Lansing LIT

I co-founded and helped launch Lansing’s first city-wide literary festival, creating a coalition of independent bookstores, local universities, and community partners.

From its inaugural year in 2024 to a successful second annual event in September 2025, we have established a sustainable recurring cultural event for the region.

We developed programming that connects readers with local commerce, driving foot traffic to 13+ participating venues through a Bookstore Crawl and event line-up.

Cultural Impact: Recognized by local media (WKAR, The State News) for “shining a spotlight” on the local arts scene and rebranding Lansing as a hub for literary culture, spanning genres from local poetry to “romantasy” and academic non-fiction.

Introducing the Inaugural Lansing Lit Fest!

This video from the festival’s inaugural year features me and provides excellent context on the community collaboration and crawl that is central to the festival.

We plan to continue in 2026.
